New course Chartered!

January 5, 2009

OK listen up, the Nike + Ipod has been done sadly…FACT….they’ve even got a program where you can check your stats…. so we need a change of course! the idea of being able to setup a profile page on the internet with a profile picture, shoe type and forum alongside steps taken or laptime. this is still definitely valid.

we should tie this up with setting up new/usage of running routes in and around London.

http://www.programmableweb.com/mashup/run-london <- for example.
This does two things, people run to get fit and for the social aspect. and in conjunction with the forum people can find running groups.

the Media; Digital Billboards, Personalized profile on the web, Bluetooth pedometer, Forum,

but all of Jayens designs and ideas are still valid! just tweaking bits so intead of Ipods its a built in Pedometer.

Instead of Nike + Ipod we’re gunna choose Reebok

the Brand is Reebok the line of shoe will be “Reebok Hex” with and using Hex….agons! we should be able to design quite a unique looking campaign :) (this also replaces the cliche Ipod)

Olly’s got a post to follow to show design concepts & colour schemes for the presentation/website stay posted!

just two pages… looking into more detail of our product “Nike+Ipod”

The Ojects are iPod nano or iPod touch, a pair of Nike+ shoes, and the Nike + iPod Sport Kit or Sensor. essentially 3 items so we have good grounds on which to base our advertising on.

ok so there is already a concept out there… but that doesnt mean we cant use this idea. though i’d quite like to see what other products we can come up with that will suit but primarily this is our best bet, agree?

as the brief states reinvent the Product idea and advertise it in a new medium! (to Linn, we scrapped the Reebok pumps idea to follow fitness)

untitled

so yeah we can also tie this fitness idea in with healthy lifestyles but mainly the 2012 olympics!

what I’d like to see blogged before friday (friday we’ll meet up early again and work till our time slot) is some good advertising designs, concepts, colours, use of slogans and technologys. basically do what your already doing because we’re on track (pun!) at the moment and doing well!

so friday morning meet up. let me know how you are about that.

peace out.

you have some very relevant research and are sure as hell on the right track!

i LOVE that Sony video its proper brilliant! and is engaging on so many levels which is what we’re after. but looking at the FutureLions winners over half of them the aim was to express one’s self individually.

the reason I have this fetish for Oyster cards, Touch screens and Sat Navs purely on the reason that they weren’t around 5 years ago its 3 key items today that i for one couldn’t live without.  obvious places for these items would be London. as all buses use Oyster cards, cars sat navs and every other shop has a touch screen till or something of the sort.

Google maps for example does just that, using pics and video. This way we can combine many different mediums from many sites and maybe do something pretty cool with it?

as project manager :P I think we should drop google maps unless people have some FANTASMICAL idea about it personally. as its too cliche in technology today. Im not saying no completely as Jayen’s correct becuase it wasnt around 5 years prior to today but maybe its just because im thick :D

anyway ollys house monday morning! meet at the station at 10:30  (AND I WILL BE THERE) hahaha

meantime this is what i had in mind about Tshirts.

watch?v=HQ6jjfSL-wQ

the fact that peoeple would be able to redesign logos. but we need to make sure we all know a direction after monday! ill send a text round sunday to plan monday

till then peace out.

Wrapping Cont’d

December 2, 2008

Interesting idea there,  there’s certainly a lot of interest developed when the guy scales the buildings which could translate well in an advertising sense.  However… as you said it would possibly have been available five years ago.

More to the point, it strikes me that, although it’s in an interesting position, it is still essentially a billboard/banner and I’m not sure to what extent the brief calls for wholly new method of advertising.

Also, while not as advertising, this has been done by a duo of artists known as Christo and Jeanne-Claude for a fair amount of time.  (they’re fecking good though, they even wrapped, or at least surrounded, islands and check out the Reichstag piece too).

Good start though, perhaps we could continue along these lines, playing with the scale of advertising.    For example the advertising done for the Simpsons movie linking to the chalk figures on the side of english hills.

This also brings up the idea of localised advertising. The movie is a global brand/piece but this advertising wouldn’t work too well in other countries as it relies on the cultural knowledge of the UK countryside.  This, I feel, adds to its effectiveness as the people viewing it may, perhaps, feel it relates better to them and is therefore more relevant and desirable for them.  (this links in with Evelina’s idea of TV radio providing adverts depending on where you drive through allowing for local/small businesses to advertise only to those likely to use them thus saving their money).

Just stuff to think on really, we need, I feel, a massive backing of research and fairly abstract ideas before we start to narrow it down to specific concepts.  I’m going to start researching the history of advertising and home in on the past five years.

BRIEFAGE!

December 1, 2008

This is the Christmas brief complete with some notes;sketch2030

from our chats this morning typically the best idea we’ve had so far is the TV on the Radio, i’m quite liking the anti-Global Village idea. (see sketchbook) and having localised adverts and ideaologies.

this is just an image from the game Fall out 3 but the style of it i think would fit quite nicely its essentially 1950’s america with the nuclear family.

bioshock-woman1bioshock-woman2

of course this isnt my role (ill blog that next) so i’m just throwing up ideas for the creative director to look at!

its basically a more stylised form of Art Deco.
