Answer to Sam Q-why?:

January 8, 2009

Think about McDonalds and why they decided to change its image recently.

McDonalds were known for fatty junk foods until they began selling fruit and veg.

We are doing or aim to do a similar thing with Reebok shoes.

Trainers these days aren’t really associated with ‘sport’; it’s usually something that people would buy to make visual statement about themselves. What we want to do is enforce the image of sports/running etc by getting real athletes to wear them and possible create a more serious sports band out of Reebok hex.

“Your not buying these shoes to look cool your buying it to take the right “STEP” to enhance your fitness levels or get you back into shape.”

Some facts to strengthen the idea:

Headline of this read: Map highlights ‘obesity hotspots’

1With our chosen idea we can sell the product and also inadvertently encourage people to atleast think about their health and so on, especially now when the uk is on its way to be one of the fattest nations in the world. =P

Q’a

January 8, 2009

  • What (the product and the global brand) – nailed
  • Who (the audience, consider creating a user scenario) – nailed
  • How (are you going to advertise the product) – nailed
  • Why — ?
  • When — nailed

just checking its all sorted!

Writings!!!!

January 8, 2009

Here’s the text Linn asked for, I’ve emailed it to her but I’d be grateful if everyone could take a peek  and suggest any changes or additions you feel are necessary!

1. concept

People run to keep fit, it’s one of the best exercises you can do for your heart and body.  People also run in groups for competition, social interaction and fun. We’re equipped with almost all we need to partake in this activity, all you need is a good pair of shoes.

A good pair of Reebok Hex.  Not only do they provide all the stability and comfort you need for running, through the inbuilt pedometer and website linkup they provide all you need for training yourself, tracking your progress and organising your running groups.  Running on our specially set up routes will allow on-the-run feedback for you in real time through the digital billboards.

All this will be further promoted through projection billboard advertisments and an iPhone app which contain runners interacting with their environment, be that a series of iPhones or billboards.

2. Shoe info

-The perfect running shoe

-Developed with a pedometer to track your progress and distance to help you train.

-Check your stats online and as you train

3.Running routes

There will be digital interactive billboards set up at major running routes round london such as:

-Regent’s Park

-Hyde Park

-Green Park

These will show details to help the runner push themselves to be the best they can.

4.Future

-For the future this campaign has it’s sights on a linkup to the 2012 olympics, using the new facilities as a base to set up and sponsor.

-It also hopes to tie in with anti-obesity and keep fit campaigns as it offers a way to bring social networking technology to running to generate interest and lend the exercise more layers.

I concur!

January 8, 2009

I agree with Jay on this one!

Your target audience sounds good just get a piccy of a person and do it a bit like a profile thing and maybe a general summary of the entire target ( young/middle aged professionals living in london).

For the future, I think the images and text is a good plan, It’ll be linked to the olympics and general nationwide health (combating obesity and stuff like that) so images relating to that’d be good.

The words are coming. Fear not!!!

Linn I have made a few little changes to the order of events to show what’s happening from step to step more clearly and to me it makes more sense to use the new order. this way it’ll be more easier for the people to understand. The link to the post is here below, please review it ASAP.

I dont now how it’ll effect your flash work but i am guessing you’ll need to add two more slides and make sure the others are in the new order. Sorry for being a MAJOR pain ; (

Thank you linn

-Here are some possible answers to Linns questions-

Shoe info- I think the image below maybe because it’s giving our audience a pretty good picture of whats going on.

pedometer

Target audience your idea for this sounds Fabulous.

For running routes text suggestion:

Measure time and distance on your running routes. As you take part, this information is then relayed and instantly displayed on the participating billbaord nearest to the sport shoes.

Notes on the future- Use a combination of images and text

Intro/concept- olly and sam will be the strongest at describing this since the original idea was triggered by them

Missing bits and pieces

January 8, 2009

hello dear guys,

my flash presentation is going quite well, but missing some information like:

-intro/concept ( words);

-shoe info ( words) ( and -are there any preferations about which images to use for this slide as there arent any specific ones on the blog or are they coming?);

-Target audience ( text):

should i compose something like:

Steven, 25 years old, works as a creative director, goes running every Tue and Thursday, show his route etc.

or use Ollies pretty mockup for the website profile page?

-Running routes (text / a sentence);

-notes on the future – should there be some text or just images?

cheers!
